Overview :

The HP C7974W is a fourth-generation LTO Ultrium tape cartridge intended for enterprise archival and compliance use where data must be written once and read many times (WORM). It provides 800 GB of native storage capacity and up to 1.6 TB compressed at a 2:1 ratio, supporting dense backups or long-term storage. The media fits into LTO-4 drives for read/write and is backward compatible for read operations in later generations, making it suitable for data center, tape library, or long-retention archive deployments. The cartridge incorporates internal cartridge memory, active head-cleaning film and self-diagnostic features to support reliable operation in automated tape libraries or robotic systems.
