Overview:

HP LTO C7978A Ultrium Universal Cleaning Cartridges are designed specifically for use in all LTO Ultrium 1, 2, 3, 4 5, and 6 drives and are compatible with libraries designed for LTO Ultrium 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 drives. The Ultrium system is based on the industry's first open data storage platform.

The Ultrium C7978A Universal Cleaning Cartridge from HPE cleans the tape heads of HPE and non-HPE Ultrium standalone tape drives and libraries. The cartridge removes debris from the read/write head and tape path of the drive, providing a reduction in errors, improved data security, extended drive life, and optimized drive performance. The cleaning cartridge C7978A can be used up to 50 times with HPE Ultrium 960 and 460 tape drives and up to 15 times with HPE C7978A Ultrium 230 and 215 tape drives.
