Overview :

The APC BR1350MS is a line-interactive tower UPS designed to provide short-duration battery backup and surge protection for desktop IT equipment, network devices, and small office electronics. It is typically deployed by IT administrators, technical professionals, and home-office users who need controlled shutdown capability and power conditioning for sensitive electronics during utility outages or voltage instability.

The unit provides 1350VA / 810W output capacity with a pure sine wave output, allowing compatibility with modern active-PFC power supplies commonly used in workstations, NAS appliances, and networking hardware. The line-interactive topology includes Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR), which stabilizes voltage fluctuations by correcting low or high utility power conditions without immediately switching to battery operation, preserving battery runtime. The UPS operates in a 120V electrical ecosystem with an input voltage range of 88–147V and uses a NEMA 5-15P input connector.

For device connectivity, the BR1350MS provides 10 NEMA 5-15R outlets, with six battery-backup plus surge-protected outlets and four surge-only outlets for non-critical equipment. Data-line protection includes RJ45 Ethernet surge protection and coaxial protection, allowing broadband modem or network connections to remain protected from electrical spikes. Communication and management are supported through USB connectivity, enabling integration with APC shutdown software for automated system shutdown.

Within deployment environments, the BR1350MS is commonly installed in home office workstations, small business IT desks, and network edge cabinets where rackmount UPS infrastructure is unnecessary. It is capable of supporting desktop computers, small NAS storage units, routers, cable modems, and compact switches that require several minutes of power continuity during outages.

In real deployments, the BR1350MS is typically used to protect a workstation with one or two monitors, a broadband gateway, and a small network switch. This configuration allows users enough runtime to safely shut down systems or maintain network connectivity during brief outages.

However, this device should not be deployed for rack-mounted infrastructure or high-density compute equipment. Its 810W output limit and tower form factor make it unsuitable for server racks or large virtualization hosts that require higher-capacity UPS systems or extended runtime battery modules.
