Overview

APC SMT750C is a line-interactive uninterruptible power supply designed to provide battery-backed power protection for small IT infrastructure and network equipment. IT administrators deploy this UPS to maintain continuous operation for workstations, routers, firewalls, and small servers where short-duration outages or unstable utility power could interrupt operations.

The unit provides 750 VA / 500 W output capacity within a 120 V AC power environment, delivering a pure sine-wave output compatible with modern power supplies used in servers, network appliances, and workstation systems. Its line-interactive topology includes automatic voltage regulation that corrects low- and high-voltage conditions without switching to battery power, preserving battery capacity during frequent voltage fluctuations.

The UPS uses a tower form factor intended for floor or desk-side deployment in small IT environments such as network closets, branch infrastructure cabinets, or office equipment installations. Power input is provided through a NEMA 5-15P connector, while the rear panel includes six NEMA 5-15R outlets, all providing both surge protection and battery backup for connected devices.

Management connectivity includes USB and serial communication interfaces, allowing integration with shutdown software for automated system shutdown during extended power failures. The device also includes a SmartSlot expansion interface and SmartConnect cloud monitoring, enabling administrators to remotely monitor UPS status, receive alerts, and perform diagnostics without installing dedicated management hardware.

A sealed lead-acid battery system provides approximately 4–5 minutes of runtime at full load and about 16 minutes at half load, enabling controlled shutdown of connected systems or short ride-through during power interruptions. The battery module is hot-swappable, allowing replacement without shutting down connected equipment. Recharge time after discharge is typically around 3 hours.

This UPS is intended for deployments supporting 120 V single-phase power circuits using standard NEMA outlets. It is not designed for rack-mounted data center infrastructure or high-power server loads exceeding the device’s 500 W capacity.
