Overview

The Eaton AVR550U is a 550 VA / 300 W line‑interactive uninterruptible power supply (UPS) engineered to maintain AC continuity through brownouts, overvoltages, and brief power faults. It is deployed by IT and facilities personnel to protect desktop systems, networking gear, edge devices, and workstations against power anomalies that cause data loss or unscheduled shutdowns.

This UPS operates from 120 V AC utility power, correcting undervoltage and overvoltage conditions through automatic voltage regulation (AVR) within an approximate 83–147 V input range without drawing battery energy. Four outlets provide combined battery support and surge protection, while four additional outlets offer surge protection only.

The compact desktop/tower/wall‑mount form factor suits small offices, retail kiosks, branch closets, or home labs where footprint and budget constraints exist and short backup runtime is acceptable. Audible alarms and LED indicators communicate UPS state and fault conditions.

Communication to a host system is supported via a USB HID‑compliant port enabling safe shutdown using Eaton’s PowerAlert software. The line‑interactive topology provides ~6 ms transfer to battery power when required.

This model is not intended for sustained runtime or critical infrastructure support; choose a higher capacity or double‑conversion topology UPS for longer hold‑up times or high‑availability applications.
