Overview

The Eaton SMART3000RMXLN is a rack/tower convertible line-interactive uninterruptible power supply (UPS) engineered to provide battery backup and automatic voltage regulation (AVR) to mission-critical IT infrastructure. It is deployed by IT engineers, network architects, and facilities teams in branch offices, wiring closets, and small data halls where maintaining uptime for servers, networking gear, storage arrays, and telecommunications devices is required. The line-interactive design corrects undervoltages and overvoltages without immediately switching to battery, preserving battery life while supporting uninterrupted operation through short power events.

This UPS delivers 3000 VA / 2700 W output capacity at 120 V AC, suitable for supporting clusters of rack servers, virtualized hosts, or core networking switches. It features automatic voltage regulation to stabilize input voltage fluctuations and switches to battery within 4-6 ms during utility power failures, ensuring continued operation and protecting against data loss or hardware damage.

Deployment is typically in 1U rack space using included hardware, but the unit also converts to tower form for standalone placement when needed. Its form factor makes it well-suited for standard 19-inch rack deployments in IDF/MDF closets or edge computing racks where space is constrained. The UPS includes (8) NEMA 5-15R outlets for battery-backed power, allowing segmentation of critical and non-critical loads.

Connectivity includes USB (HID) and RS-232 serial interfaces for local power event monitoring and graceful shutdown scripting via Eaton's PowerAlert software or other UPS management tools. An optional network management card slot supports SNMP/Web and remote monitoring when centralized visibility is required.

During a brief brownout or outage, the UPS's AVR and battery support maintain service continuity long enough to initiate orderly shutdown procedures or bridge to standby generation.
