Overview

The Eaton SMART750RMXL2UN is a line-interactive UPS designed for rack-mounted IT, network, and telecom equipment operating in 120 V single-phase environments. It is deployed by infrastructure engineers to maintain uptime during short utility interruptions, correct voltage instability, and prevent data loss or equipment resets. The unit integrates automatic voltage regulation (AVR) and battery backup to handle brownouts, overvoltages, and transient disturbances without immediate battery discharge.

This model provides 750 VA / 750 W capacity with unity power factor, allowing full utilization of rated capacity for modern IT loads. It outputs a pure sine wave, ensuring compatibility with servers, switches, and power supplies requiring clean AC input. AVR maintains nominal output during input fluctuations, typically correcting undervoltage and overvoltage conditions without switching to battery.

The UPS is built in a 2U rackmount/tower convertible chassis, designed for standard 19″ EIA racks in IDF, MDF, and edge network environments. Its footprint supports deployment in space-constrained racks while maintaining adequate runtime for controlled shutdown operations. A front LCD interface provides detailed visibility into load levels, battery status, and input/output conditions for commissioning and operational monitoring.

Integration includes a pre-installed WEBCARDLXE network management card, along with USB and DB9 serial interfaces, enabling SNMP/Web monitoring, remote reboot of connected devices, and automated shutdown scripting. Two independently switchable load banks allow selective load shedding or remote power cycling of non-critical equipment.

In deployment, the SMART750RMXL2UN is used to provide short-duration runtime (~8–20 minutes depending on load) for controlled shutdown or bridging to generator startup. It supports external battery modules for extended runtime scaling. It is not suitable for environments requiring long-duration standalone backup without additional battery expansion or higher-capacity UPS systems.
