Overview

The APC AP5808 is a rackmount LCD console with an integrated 8‑port analog KVM switch designed for centralized local control of multiple servers and IT devices in a rack environment. It combines a 17‑inch LCD display, keyboard, and pointing device with KVM switching functionality to reduce space and cable clutter in server rooms and data closets.

This unit supports up to 8 KVM sessions through integrated SPHD‑15 connections and interfaces using PS/2 emulation with USB support for keyboard and mouse, allowing cross‑platform connectivity for legacy and modern host systems. The console includes a full‑size keyboard with integrated touchpad that eliminates the need for external peripherals.

Built to occupy 1U of rack space and mount in standard 19″ cabinets, the AP5808 fits in IDF/MDF racks and edge server cabinets where local server access and monitoring is required. Power is drawn from a universal AC source (IEC 60320 C14) that accepts 120 V or 240 V at 50/60 Hz for global deployment flexibility.

Physically rugged with quick‑release slides and included cable management arms, it is intended for IT operations teams needing on‑rack access without dedicating full consoles at each rack. This device is not suitable as a remote management console replacement where IP‑based access or out‑of‑band management is required.
