The Eaton B022-U08-IP is an 8-port rackmount keyboard, video, and mouse (KVM) switch with built-in remote IP access from the Tripp Lite series. Data center managers and network systems engineers deploy this unit to establish centralized, BIOS-level administration over multi-server racks. By embedding a dedicated network port for out-of-band management, it solves the problem of local server access limitations, allowing administrative interventions from any location over LAN, WAN, or internet pathways.

The platform controls up to eight target computers directly from a single hardware console workspace. It supports local console display resolutions reaching 2048 x 1536 (DDC2B) and remote session streams up to 1600 x 1200 at 60Hz with 24-bit color depth. Security architecture leverages multi-level authentication profiles supporting up to 64 distinct accounts, alongside advanced infrastructure encryption standards including 256-bit AES, 1024-bit RSA, and 128-bit SSL. Administrative access is driven through standard web browsers or standalone Windows and Java client applications.

Constructed in a rugged, heavy-duty steel housing, this KVM switch is engineered for seamless deployment inside standard EIA 19-inch equipment racks. It occupies 1U of horizontal rail space and features an integrated daisy-chain port, allowing administrators to cascade up to 15 additional B022-U16 switches to control up to 248 separate target systems from a single entry point. The hardware is powered via an external 5.3V power adapter linked to standard utility feeds and features a front-facing USB 1.1 peripheral port for localized data-sharing utilities.

The B022-U08-IP interfaces natively with cross-platform server environments through Eaton P778-Series USB/PS2 combo cable assemblies, accommodating legacy PS/2 and modern USB server attachments through a unified SPHD-18 interface layout. It integrates with network infrastructure directory services including RADIUS, LDAP, and LDAPS for unified credential verification. This hardware must not be deployed in environments requiring high-definition digital interfaces like native HDMI, DisplayPort, or 4K video pipelines at the server layer.
