TRENDnet TK-EX4 USB VGA KVM Extension Kit
Overview
The TRENDnet TK-EX4 is a dedicated KVM extension kit engineered to relocate keyboard, video, and mouse access from a server or computer to a remote location up to 100 meters (328 ft.) away. It addresses the common logistical challenge in data closets, server rooms, and large office environments where direct machine access is impractical or inefficient. By transmitting signals over a standard Cat5e/6 network cable, this kit allows administrators and users to control a host system from a more convenient or secure workspace without any signal degradation. This kit consists of a compact transmitter and receiver pair, providing a straightforward, hardware-based solution that requires no software installation. It supports high-resolution VGA video up to 1920 x 1200, ensuring clear visuals for detailed server management tasks. The system is managed through a convenient on-screen display (OSD) and supports hot-key commands, giving operators seamless control over the remote console and simplifying the process of switching between local and remote access. Designed for reliability, the TK-EX4 features a durable and compact metal housing suitable for various deployment environments. Its plug-and-play functionality simplifies setup, requiring only the connection of the included cables and a user-supplied network cable to become fully operational. This makes it an ideal solution for IT professionals seeking to eliminate the time and security risks associated with physically accessing equipment in a dedicated networking room.
