Overview

The HPE J9778A is a fixed-configuration access switch designed for IT infrastructure teams deploying a dense end-node network layer in enterprise edge or wiring-closet environments. It offers 48 autosensing RJ-45 10/100 Mbps PoE+ ports, each capable of delivering inline power, plus two autosensing 10/100/1000 Mbps uplink ports and two dedicated Gigabit SFP fibre uplinks. With a PoE power budget of 382 W, the switch supports powering IP phones, access points and surveillance cameras while delivering full Layer 2 switching and IPv6 host-support capabilities. The 1 U rack-mount design supports standard 19-inch racks and integrates into conventional rack-based access-layer deployments. For network-management, it supports managed operation via web, CLI and SNMP, making it suitable for campus edge or branch-office deployments where cost-effective PoE+ and managed switching are required.
