Overview
The ASUS ROG Delta S Wireless is a dual-mode wireless gaming headset from the Republic of Gamers audio range. It combines 50mm ASUS Essence drivers, a digital microphone with AI beamforming and AI noise cancellation, and wireless connectivity for compatible computers, consoles, and mobile devices.
The headset supports both 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity through its USB-C dongle and Bluetooth 5.0. Its D-shaped earcups, lightweight construction, and interchangeable ear cushions are designed for extended gaming sessions and everyday audio use.
Audio Performance
The 50mm ASUS Essence drivers use neodymium magnets and airtight earcup chambers. The drivers are angled at 12 degrees to direct audio toward the ears. ROG Hyper-Grounding technology uses a multilayer PCB design to help reduce electromagnetic interference affecting the audio signal.
The headset supports virtual 7.1-channel surround sound through compatible configurations. Audio settings and supported sound-processing features can be configured through ASUS Armoury Crate software on compatible devices.
Microphone and Communication
The integrated digital microphone uses AI beamforming and AI noise cancellation to improve voice pickup and reduce unwanted background noise during voice communication. This makes the headset suitable for multiplayer gaming, online meetings, and voice chat.
The microphone system has a bidirectional pickup pattern, a specified sensitivity of -37 dB, and a frequency response of 100 Hz to 10 kHz. Active noise cancellation for the listener is not supported; the AI noise cancellation feature applies to microphone input.
Wireless Connectivity
The ROG Delta S Wireless offers two wireless connection methods:
- 2.4 GHz wireless: Uses the included USB-C wireless dongle for a dedicated connection with compatible devices. ASUS specifies a wireless range of up to 25 metres under suitable conditions.
- Bluetooth 5.0: Supports wireless pairing with compatible Bluetooth-enabled computers, mobile devices, and other supported equipment.
The connection method should be selected according to the host device and intended use. Supported functionality may vary by platform and connection mode.
Comfort and Controls
The headset features D-shaped earcups designed to follow the natural shape of the ears. ASUS specifies a lightweight construction, while the included ear-cushion options provide different materials and fits.
The supplied ear cushions include ROG Hybrid cushions combining fabric and protein leather, along with protein-leather cushions. On-headset controls provide convenient access to volume adjustment, microphone muting, playback functions, and wireless operation.
Battery and Charging
The integrated 1800 mAh battery provides up to 25 hours of operation under ASUS's stated conditions. Fast charging can provide up to three hours of use after a 15-minute charge.
Actual battery life varies with usage, wireless mode, audio levels, and operating conditions. The headset charges through its USB-C charging connection.
