This 3.5-inch Large Form Factor (LFF) drive delivers a massive 12TB of storage capacity, making it an ideal and economical solution for managing the growing volume of digital content, archival data, and cloud infrastructure workloads where storage density is a primary concern. Engineered for reliability in 24/7 datacenter operations, this Midline drive features Helium technology. By sealing the drive platters in a helium environment, which is one-seventh the density of air, internal turbulence and platter vibration are significantly reduced. This results in lower power consumption, cooler operating temperatures, and the ability to place platters closer together, enabling higher capacity points in the same 3.5-inch form factor. This model integrates seamlessly into supported HPE server and storage platforms, utilizing a SATA 6 Gb/s interface for reliable data transfer speeds up to 600 MBps. It comes bundled with an HPE Smart Carrier (SC) for hot-swap capability and features Digitally Signed Firmware, which prevents unauthorized access and ensures the drive's firmware is from a trusted source, protecting against malicious attacks and maintaining data integrity.
