Overview

The APC SRT192BP is a 192 V external battery pack designed to extend the runtime of compatible APC Smart-UPS SRT on-line UPS systems, particularly the 5 kVA and 6 kVA models. It provides additional DC energy storage to maintain power continuity for critical IT equipment such as servers, storage arrays, and network infrastructure during prolonged power outages.

This battery pack operates using maintenance-free sealed lead-acid (VRLA) batteries configured to deliver a 192 V DC output to the connected UPS system. The extended battery architecture allows the UPS inverter to continue supplying clean AC power to protected loads while the internal UPS batteries would otherwise be depleted.

The unit is designed for stand-alone tower deployment but can also be rack-mounted using an optional rail kit in standard 19-inch equipment racks commonly found in enterprise server rooms and network infrastructure cabinets. The enclosure integrates directly with the Smart-UPS SRT ecosystem through dedicated battery expansion connectors.

Runtime capacity is scalable, allowing organizations to connect multiple SRT192BP battery packs to the same UPS to significantly increase backup duration. This is commonly deployed in environments requiring extended generator startup windows or controlled shutdown of critical applications.

Battery health and runtime monitoring are handled through the connected Smart-UPS management interface. Embedded monitoring allows the UPS to track charge levels and battery health while supporting hot-swappable maintenance, minimizing downtime during battery replacement.
