APC SMX48RMBP2U 48 V Smart-UPS X External Battery Pack

Overview

The APC SMX48RMBP2U is an external battery pack designed to extend the backup runtime of compatible APC Smart-UPS X-Series uninterruptible power supplies by adding additional DC energy storage capacity. It is deployed by IT infrastructure, data center, and network engineers to scale UPS runtime for servers, storage, and networking equipment during extended power outages.

This unit uses maintenance-free sealed lead-acid (VRLA) batteries arranged into a 48 V DC configuration matched to the UPS battery system. Intelligent battery management and precision charging from the connected Smart-UPS help maximize battery life and maintain consistent runtime performance without interrupting protected loads.

Mechanically, the SMX48RMBP2U occupies 2U of rack space in a rack/tower convertible chassis. It ships with rack mounting brackets and can be installed under a Smart-UPS X in a standard 19″ cabinet or operated beside the UPS in tower mode.

This external battery pack does not provide AC output independently×it must be connected to a compatible Smart-UPS X UPS to convert the stored DC energy into AC for protected equipment. It is not a standalone UPS and does not include surge protection on its own
