Overview

The APC SMX48RMBP2US is a 2U external battery extension module designed for the Smart-UPS X series. It supplies 48 V DC power using sealed lead-acid battery cartridges, enabling longer runtime for critical loads when paired with compatible UPS units. The unit is hot-swappable and mounts in standard 19″ racks or in tower orientation as needed. Built for data centers, telecom rooms, or branch sites, this battery pack provides scalable backup capacity while maintaining system uptime during maintenance or battery replacement. With a net weight of about 28.6 kg (63.1 lb) and a depth under 49 cm, it fits into dense rack environments without overly burdening rack depth.
