Overview

The StarTech C2-ETHERNET-EXTENDER is a high-performance point-to-point extender kit that allows you to bridge a Gigabit Ethernet network over existing coaxial cable. This solution is ideal for retrofitting older buildings with high-speed internet or extending network connectivity to remote locations—such as outbuildings or security camera sites—without the prohibitive cost of installing new Cat5e/Cat6 or fiber optic cabling.

By leveraging existing RG6 or RG11 coaxial infrastructure, this kit can extend a network signal up to 1 kilometer (0.6 miles) at reduced speeds, or maintain near-Gigabit throughput at shorter distances. The system is designed for plug-and-play installation, requiring no software or complex configuration. It uses a master/remote (local/remote) setup to transparently pass data, making it invisible to the rest of the network.
