Overview

The StarTech USB2004EXT100 is a professional-grade USB extension kit designed to overcome the 16-foot (5-meter) distance limitation of standard USB 2.0 cabling. By utilizing standard Cat5e or Cat6 network infrastructure, this system allows users to connect up to four USB peripherals at distances of up to 330 feet (100 meters) from the host computer.

This extender provides a plug-and-play solution that is OS independent, requiring no additional drivers or software. It features an integrated 4-port hub at the remote receiver, allowing for the simultaneous connection of diverse peripherals such as high-resolution webcams, printers, scanners, and external storage devices. The system ensures a stable 480Mbps data throughput, making it suitable for industrial control, security surveillance, and commercial AV applications.

The kit includes a local transmitter and a remote receiver with an included power adapter for the remote end to ensure consistent voltage for bus-powered USB devices.
