The StarTech ST12MHDLNHK is a HDMI over IP extender kit (transmitter + receiver) designed to distribute Full HD video across a standard LAN infrastructure (Cat5e/Cat6). It enables point-to-point or point-to-multipoint video distribution using existing network switches, eliminating the need for dedicated AV cabling.
It supports 1920×1080 @ 60Hz video with integrated audio over HDMI, using advanced compression (6-12 Mbps per stream) to minimize network load while maintaining consistent image quality. This makes it suitable for digital signage, campuses, control rooms, and multi-display enterprise environments.
The system scales by adding additional receivers (sold separately), allowing multi-display distribution and matrix-style routing over IP networks. Deployment supports both direct Cat6 links (short range) and switched LAN environments. Do NOT use for 4K workflows, ultra-low latency applications, or environments without managed network control when scaling.
