Overview :
The StarTech USB3004EXT2 is an industrial-grade USB 3.2 Gen 1 extender kit designed to extend USB connectivity over long distances using standard Cat6a/Cat7 cabling. It enables connection of up to four USB devices and one Gigabit Ethernet link up to 100 meters (330 ft) from the host system.
This solution is built for environments where USB devices must be remotely deployed×such as manufacturing floors, surveillance systems, POS setups, and warehouse automation. It supports SuperSpeed 5Gbps data transfer, ensuring performance for storage devices, printers, and industrial peripherals.
The kit includes a transmitter (host side) and receiver (remote side), both externally powered, delivering up to 5V/0.9A per USB port for connected devices. It also extends Gigabit Ethernet alongside USB, reducing cabling complexity in structured deployments.
Deployment is straightforward with plug-and-play operation across Windows, macOS, and Linux. It is not suitable for latency-sensitive USB video capture or isochronous devices, where direct USB connections are required.
