Overview

The Eaton 5PXEBM72RT3UAG2 is a high-capacity, 72 V external battery module (EBM) purpose-built for extending runtime of compatible Eaton 5PX G2 UPS systems (e.g., 2 kVA & 3 kVA models). It occupies a 3U rack/tower form-factor, mounting easily in standard 19-inch enclosures using the supplied rail kit or as a free-standing tower with included bracket. Inside, it houses twelve sealed lead-acid (12 V/9 Ah) batteries pre-wired into a 72 V DC configuration, delivering hours of additional runtime when tied into the UPS chain. Engineers deploy this module when the internal battery bank of the UPS no longer provides the runtime required for servers, network switches, storage gear or remote edge infrastructure. The module features heavy-gauge DC bus cabling, detection-cable support and is certified to global UPS-battery standards (IEC/EN 62040-1/2/3, UL 1778, CSA 22.2) to ensure safe integration into mission-critical racks. With a weight of ~87.5 lb (≈ 39.7 kg) and rail-kit installation, it fits neatly into high-availability IT racks without consuming extra U-space for added runtime.
