Overview

The Eaton 9PXEBM48RT‑L is a rack/tower extended battery module (EBM) engineered to increase runtime for compatible Eaton 9PX lithium‑ion UPS systems. It is deployed by IT infrastructure and data center engineers where backup duration must be extended beyond the internal UPS battery capacity. The module scales runtime without oversizing the UPS itself.

This EBM delivers 48 V DC battery output and uses lithium‑ion chemistry with integrated battery management for temperature regulation and lifecycle monitoring. Modules can be daisy‑chained up to four units to tailor runtime for critical loads. It connects to the host UPS via heavy‑gauge 48 V DC connectors designed for high‑current installation.

The form factor is 1U, suitable for standard 19‑inch rack deployment, and includes rack/tower mounting hardware. Its height and rail kit support installation in dense rack environments common to enterprise and edge data centers where space efficiency and modular battery scaling are required.

In practical deployment, the module is installed directly adjacent to or below the UPS, connected via the provided cable.
