The Eaton 9PXEBM360SP is an external battery module (EBM) designed to work alongside compatible Eaton 9PX UPS systems, extending backup runtime for critical IT infrastructure. The unit supports a 360 V DC bus voltage which aligns with the upstream UPS design, enabling seamless integration into rack/tower setups. It’s built for scenarios where you require longer runtime than what the internal UPS battery alone would deliver—such as extended maintenance windows, remote sites without generator backup, or load shedding events.The 3-unit high (3U) chassis mounts in a standard 19-inch EIA rack via included 4-post rail kit or can be installed in tower orientation using the supplied stands. It’s engineered for ease of deployment and modular scaling: you can add up to four matching 9PXEBM360SP units in series (daisy-chain) behind a compatible UPS to increase runtime without increasing the inverter size. The module uses heavy-gauge DC cabling and high-current connectors to ensure reliable battery feed.This module is ideal when your data centre, edge rack or telecom equipment setup uses a 9PX UPS (for example the 9PX8KSP or 9PX10KSP) and you need to extend runtime while preserving rack space and maintainability. By separating the battery pack from the UPS head you keep the UPS head accessible, reduce thermal stress, and optimize serviceability.
