Overview

The Eaton 9PXEBM360SP is a rack/tower‑mount extended battery module (EBM) designed to increase runtime for compatible Eaton 9PX split‑phase UPS systems. It provides additional energy storage capacity for mission‑critical loads during utility outages. This module is deployed by data center, enterprise, and branch IT teams where extended UPS autonomy beyond internal battery limits is required.

This battery module houses sealed lead‑acid cells and includes hot‑swappable internal batteries and connectors for integration with the UPS. It does not supply power independently — instead it integrates with the 9PX8KSP and 9PX10KSP UPS units to extend runtime for higher load durations.

The unit ships in a 3U rack form factor, with mounting brackets and kit for both 4‑post rack and tower deployment. It is sized for standard 19‑inch racks and installs directly below the host UPS.

Integration is via the UPS’s dedicated battery module connector system; no additional field‑configurable power interfaces are present on the EBM itself. Rack installations retain UPS communications and control through the UPS host.

A practical use case is extending UPS autonomy in remote branch IDFs or data closets where SLA requirements demand prolonged runtime without generator support. Conversely, this module should not be deployed when the UPS host model is outside its supported list (e.g., non‑9PX8KSP/10KSP units), as compatibility and proper runtime scaling cannot be assured.
