Overview

The HPE J9536A is a switch module designed for deployment in the HPE/Aruba 5400R zl2, 5400 zl and 8200 zl chassis systems that need access-layer density with PoE+ support and uplink speed. For example, in a wiring closet where you have dozens of IP phones, wireless access points and cameras, this module gives you 20 × 1Gb PoE+ RJ-45 ports plus 2 × 10 Gb SFP+ uplink ports so you can handle the access load and backhaul traffic without adding a separate switch. It fits into the zl slot architecture of compatible chassis and allows the network engineer to add PoE-enabled access ports in the same physical chassis used for aggregation or distribution.This module works best in campus or branch data-rooms where you already have a 5400R zl2 or 5400 zl chassis and need to add PoE density without deploying a full new switch. It supports PoE+ (suitable for APs, cameras, VoIP) and high-speed uplink via its 10 Gb SFP+ ports to the core or distribution layer.
