Overview
The HPE 778720-B21 is a Virtual Connect Fibre Channel module designed to provide high-speed, scalable, and manageable SAN connectivity for HPE BladeSystem c-Class enclosures. It is engineered for enterprise data centers that require robust and simplified integration between their blade servers and Fibre Channel storage networks. This module directly addresses the complexity of traditional SAN environments by reducing the number of cables, switches, and management points. This module delivers high-throughput storage access by providing twenty-four 16Gb Fibre Channel ports. It features eight external SFP+ ports for connection to the upstream SAN fabric and sixteen internal ports that map to the blade servers within the enclosure. This architecture, combined with a fabric latency as low as 700 nanoseconds, ensures high-speed, low-latency data access critical for virtualized environments and data-intensive applications. Designed as a hot-swappable plug-in module, the 778720-B21 simplifies deployment and maintenance within the BladeSystem chassis.
