Overview
The Ubiquiti ECS-48S Enterprise Campus 48S is a 1U Layer 3 enterprise switch designed for high-density campus and data-center access deployments. It combines 48 multi-speed RJ45 ports with 25G SFP28 and 100G QSFP28 uplink connectivity, switch stacking, Etherlighting, and redundant hot-swappable power and cooling.
Port Connectivity
The switch provides 32 × 2.5GbE RJ45 ports and 16 × 10GbE RJ45 ports. The 10GbE ports support 10G, 5G, 2.5G, 1G, 100M, and 10M operation, while the 2.5GbE ports support 2.5G, 1G, 100M, and 10M. Four 25G SFP28 ports support 25G, 10G, and 1G connections, while two 100G QSFP28 ports provide high-speed uplink connectivity.
Switching and Layer 3
ECS-48S provides 680 Gbps switching capacity, 340 Gbps total non-blocking throughput, and a 506 Mpps forwarding rate. Layer 3 functions include DHCP server and relay, inter-VLAN routing, and static routing. The switch supports up to 1,000 VLANs, a 32,000-entry MAC address table, and 512 IPv4 static routes.
Stacking and High Availability
The Enterprise Campus 48S supports switch stacking and cross-stack LAG for resilient network designs. Two hot-swappable 550W AC/DC power modules and four hot-swappable fan modules provide serviceability and hardware redundancy.
Management and Network Features
Management features include an Ethernet out-of-band management port, serial console, LACP, STP/RSTP, QoS, IGMP snooping, 802.1X, ACLs, DHCP snooping and guarding, port isolation, port mirroring, jumbo frames, LLDP-MED, voice VLAN, loop protection, storm control, and Etherlighting.
