Overview
The Ubiquiti USW-WAN is a 1U UniFi WAN switch designed to connect two Shadow Mode High Availability UniFi Gateways to a single ISP connection. It provides three 10G SFP+ ports, one Gigabit Ethernet management interface, and dual internal AC power inputs for power redundancy.
Network Connectivity
The USW-WAN provides three 10G SFP+ ports supporting 10G and 1G connections, plus one Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 port supporting 1G, 100M, and 10M Ethernet. The switch delivers a 20 Gbps switching capacity, 10 Gbps total non-blocking throughput, and a 15 Mpps forwarding rate.
WAN High Availability
The switch is designed for Shadow Mode High Availability deployments where two compatible UniFi Gateways share connectivity to a single ISP. Ubiquiti recommends using an additional USW-WAN when a deployment requires multiple ISPs.
Power and Rack Installation
Two internal AC/DC power supplies provide redundant AC inputs. The switch accepts 100–240V AC at 50/60 Hz and has a maximum power consumption of 13W. Its 1U rack-mount form factor is suited to standard network racks.
Key Features
Applications
The USW-WAN is intended for high-availability UniFi WAN deployments, particularly installations connecting two Shadow Mode UniFi Gateways to a shared ISP connection. For environments with multiple ISPs, additional WAN switches can be deployed as required.
DC Supplies Product Note
The USW-WAN is purpose-built for the WAN-side interconnection of compatible UniFi Gateway redundancy deployments rather than serving as a conventional multi-port access-layer switch.
