Overview
The Netgear XSM4348CS-100NES is a high-performance, stackable Layer 3 managed switch designed for demanding enterprise, campus, and data center environments. Part of the M4300 series, this switch provides robust 10 Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, making it ideal for server aggregation, professional AV-over-IP deployments, and unified communications where high bandwidth and low latency are critical. It addresses the need for a scalable and reliable network core or distribution layer.
Equipped with 48 10GBASE-T RJ45 ports and four shared 10G SFP+ uplink ports, this switch offers flexible copper and fiber connectivity options. It boasts a non-blocking switching fabric of 960 Gbps and a forwarding rate of 714 Mpps, ensuring line-rate throughput for even the most intensive applications. The switch supports a comprehensive Layer 2, Layer 3, and Layer 4 feature set, including advanced routing protocols like OSPF, RIP, and VRRP, which enable complex network topologies and efficient traffic management without requiring additional licenses.
This 1U rack-mountable device is designed for seamless integration into existing infrastructure. Its modular design supports dual redundant power supplies, contributing to business continuity and high availability through features like Nonstop Forwarding (NSF) and hitless failover across stacked units. Management is simplified via a full-featured web-based GUI, an industry-standard command-line interface (CLI), SNMP, and out-of-band management options, allowing IT teams to maintain precise control and monitor network performance effectively.
