The Eaton NGS24C2-1 is a Web-Smart Layer 2 managed Gigabit Ethernet switch from the Tripp Lite series. Network administrators and enterprise IT procurement teams deploy this switch to expand local area network (LAN) capacity while maintaining data stream management and granular visibility. By incorporating dedicated administrative control mechanisms, it addresses data contention and isolation issues common to unmanaged network hardware in commercial deployments.

The platform delivers an aggregate switching capacity of 52 Gbps, providing full-duplex throughput of 2 Gbps per interface. The structural interface configuration includes 24 auto-negotiating 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports alongside 2 dedicated Gigabit SFP slots designed for fiber or copper uplink connections. System management is executed via a pre-loaded, browser-based Web-Smart interface that handles VLAN configuration, link aggregation, IGMP snooping, and basic Layer 3 server tracking without requiring proprietary host software.

Engineered with a fanless design for silent operation, the heavy-duty metal chassis is optimized for deployment in standard white space environments, edge closets, or desktop environments. It occupies 1U of standard EIA 19-inch rack enclosures and features a shallow mounting profile requiring minimal depth clearance. The unit utilizes an internal power supply equipped with a standard IEC C14 inlet, drawing line power from any protected uninterruptible power supply (UPS) or power distribution unit (PDU).

The NGS24C2-1 is compatible with standard Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and Cat8 copper infrastructure, while the mini-GBIC SFP slots interface with standard 1000BASE-SX/LX transceiver modules. It conforms to IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet standards by scaling power consumption to idle ports dynamically. This switch must not be utilized in high-density installations requiring Power over Ethernet (PoE) delivery or where specialized multi-gigabit (2.5G/10G) line speeds are mandatory at the access layer.
