Overview
The HPE JL280A is a high-density 1RU switch module designed for data-centre and cloud network fabrics where large-scale east-west traffic, high-speed uplinks, and disaggregated/open-network architectures are required. It features 32 QSFP28 ports, each capable of 100 Gbps, which can also support breakout configurations (for example 4 × 25 GbE) to cater for server-access or spine roles depending on the deployment. The design supports reversible airflow (back-to-front or front-to-back) to align with hot- and cold-aisle data-centre layouts and includes dual redundant power supplies and fan modules for high availability. The unit boots via ONIE (Open Network Install Environment) enabling deployment of a choice of network operating systems and integration with modern automation and orchestration frameworks. It is suited for spine, leaf or high-density aggregation tiers in hyperscale, enterprise or service-provider networks and supports VXLAN and overlay environments for flexible multi-tenant or multi-fabric operations.
