Overview

The HPE JL707A is a fully managed, 1-rack-unit switch chassis designed for enterprise campus core or data-centre aggregation layers, addressing requirements for high throughput, flexible port configurations and advanced routing/security features for network engineers. The system provides 48 copper ports that support 100 M/1 G/10 G speeds and four QSFP-based uplinks capable of 40 G/100 G connectivity, enabling migration paths from legacy Gigabit environments through to next-generation fabric topologies. With a switching capacity up to 2.4 Tbps and forwarding throughput over 1.1 billion packets per second, the JL707A supports demanding layer-3 routing, multi-tenant virtualization and high-availability deployments. It fits in a standard 19-inch rack and integrates with the ArubaOS-CX software platform, offering unified automation, telemetry and API-driven operations. Designed for high-availability deployments, the unit supports redundant hot-replaceable power supplies and fan modules. It is suitable for campus and data-centre racks where 1 RU density, high port counts, and future-proof uplinks are needed under a consistent management domain.
