HPE R8Q71-61001 Aruba 6000 24-Port PoE+ Switch
Overview
The HPE R8Q71-61001 is an Aruba 6000 series Layer 2 access switch, engineered for branch office and small to midsize business environments seeking reliable, simple, and secure connectivity. It addresses the need for entry-level, cloud-managed network access by providing a practical solution for connecting IoT devices, access points, and user endpoints. This switch delivers the fundamental networking capabilities required for modern network edge deployments without the complexity of more advanced systems. At its core, the Aruba 6000 series is built on the robust ArubaOS-CX operating system, a modern, database-centric OS that automates and simplifies many critical and complex network tasks. This architecture ensures greater consistency and efficiency. With a 370W Class 4 PoE budget, the switch provides ample power for connected devices such as IP cameras, VoIP phones, and wireless access points directly over the Ethernet cabling, which significantly simplifies installation and reduces infrastructure costs. Designed for straightforward implementation, this 24-port model fits a standard 1U rack-mount form factor. Management is handled through the intuitive Aruba Central cloud platform, a web GUI, or a full-featured command-line interface, offering flexibility for IT teams with varying levels of expertise. Its fixed, non-modular design with built-in uplinks ensures that deployment is a plug-and-play affair, getting the network operational with minimal configuration and effort.
