Overview
The HPE R8P13A is the Aruba CX 10000-48Y6C, a new class of Layer 3 distributed services switch designed for the modern enterprise data center. It directly addresses the architectural challenges of forcing traffic to centralized security appliances by integrating stateful services directly into the access layer. This model is engineered for organizations building scalable, secure, and high-performance fabrics for hybrid, multi-cloud, and distributed application environments. This switch's core innovation is the integration of a hardware-accelerated programmable processor, or DPU. This allows the CX 10000 to deliver stateful, software-defined services like firewalling, NAT, and encryption inline at wire-rate speed. This distributed services architecture eliminates the performance bottlenecks and increased latency associated with traditional, centralized security inspection, enabling true micro-segmentation deep within the data center.
