TRENDnet TPE-LG80 8-Port Gigabit Long Range PoE+ Switch

Detailed Specifications

The TRENDnet TPE-LG80 is an unmanaged Gigabit PoE+ switch designed for operational simplicity and reliability in deployments requiring extended reach. It serves as a straightforward solution for delivering both power and data to devices like IP cameras, VoIP phones, and wireless access points situated at long distances from the switch. This unit is particularly well-suited for distributed network environments, such as large warehouses, outdoor surveillance setups, or multi-building campuses where standard Ethernet cable length limitations are a challenge. Its plug-and-play nature eliminates the need for complex configuration, making it an ideal choice for IT teams that need to deploy network infrastructure quickly and efficiently. A key technical differentiator of this switch is its Long Range PoE+ capability, enabled via a simple DIP switch. This feature allows the switch to extend the PoE+ signal up to 200 meters (656 ft.) at 10 Mbps, doubling the standard Ethernet range. With a total power budget of 65W, it can supply up to 30W per port to connected devices, accommodating both PoE and higher-power PoE+ standards. The DIP switch also provides functionality for VLAN port isolation, which enhances security in surveillance applications by preventing direct communication between connected cameras. Engineered for durability and flexible placement, the TPE-LG80 features a sturdy, fanless metal housing. This design ensures silent operation, making it suitable for noise-sensitive office environments while also providing the ruggedness needed for less controlled settings. Its compact, desktop form factor includes wall-mounting capabilities, offering versatility for various installation scenarios. Management is purely plug-and-play, requiring no software, which streamlines network expansion and maintenance for small to medium-sized businesses looking for a dependable, set-and-forget PoE solution.
