Technically, the device consists of a PCIe x8 expansion card that houses two independent, removable drive trays. It supports M.2 NVMe SSDs (M-Key) in various lengths (2230, 2242, 2260, 2280). Utilizing the PCIe 4.0 standard, it provides high-bandwidth performance with speeds up to 64Gbps (when using a compatible PCIe 4.0 motherboard). The card features a PCIe bifurcation requirement, meaning the motherboard must support splitting the x8 slot into x4/x4 mode to recognize both drives simultaneously. Each tray is equipped with a key lock to prevent unauthorized removal and ensure the drive remains seated during operation.
