Overview

The Eaton 9PX2200GRT is an online double-conversion uninterruptible power supply designed for IT infrastructure requiring continuous, conditioned power without transfer delay. It is deployed by network engineers and data center operators to protect rack-mounted servers, storage systems, and network switching equipment from voltage disturbances, frequency variation, and complete power loss.

The unit provides 2200VA / 2000W output capacity using double-conversion topology, delivering a consistent sine wave output independent of input power quality. It supports a nominal 208V environment with selectable output voltages across the 200–240V range. The UPS includes an L6-20P input connection and a mixed output configuration of IEC C13 and C19 receptacles, enabling connection of both standard IT equipment and higher-load devices. Output voltage regulation is maintained within ±1% under steady-state conditions, ensuring stable operation for sensitive loads.

This model is designed for deployment in 19-inch rack environments with a 2U footprint, supporting both rack-mounted and tower installations. It is typically used in IDF and MDF network closets, edge compute nodes, and small data center racks where single-phase 208V power is available. The form factor aligns with standard rack layouts, allowing integration alongside servers and PDUs within constrained cabinet space.

The 9PX2200GRT integrates with Eaton’s power management ecosystem via a MiniSlot expansion interface supporting network, relay, or Modbus cards. It provides USB and RS-232 communication interfaces for direct system integration and supports centralized shutdown and monitoring through Eaton Intelligent Power Software. This enables coordinated shutdown across virtualized and physical environments during extended outages.

In a practical deployment, the UPS can support a rack with multiple 1U/2U servers and network switches, providing sufficient runtime to bridge short outages or initiate automated shutdown procedures. Load segmentation via multiple output groups allows prioritization of critical systems during battery operation.

This unit is not suitable for three-phase environments, high-density racks requiring parallel UPS scaling, or installations where input power is limited to standard IEC C14 connections. It is also not appropriate for low-load environments where online UPS efficiency overhead is a constraint.
