Overview

The Eaton 9PX2000RTN is a double-conversion online UPS designed to provide continuous, conditioned power to critical IT infrastructure. It is deployed by data center engineers and network administrators to eliminate downtime caused by power disturbances, including outages, voltage fluctuations, and frequency instability. The unit ensures uninterrupted operation for single-phase loads requiring consistent voltage output.

This UPS delivers 2000VA / 1800W capacity with true online double-conversion topology, providing zero transfer time during power events. It outputs a pure sine wave at 120V and supports multiple receptacle types, including six NEMA 5-20R and one L5-20R outlet for mixed load connectivity. The system includes an integrated Gigabit network management card for remote monitoring and control, enabling visibility into power conditions and load behavior.

The 9PX2000RTN is designed for deployment in standard 19-inch racks or as a tower unit, occupying 2U of rack space. It is commonly installed in small to mid-sized data centers, edge environments, and network closets where power continuity is required for servers, switches, and storage systems. Its rack/tower convertible design supports flexible installation across varying infrastructure layouts.

The unit operates within 120V single-phase power environments and integrates with upstream generators and facility power systems. It supports hot-swappable internal batteries and expansion through external battery modules, allowing runtime extension without downtime. Eaton’s ABM battery management technology optimizes charging cycles to extend battery service life and provide predictive replacement alerts.

In a practical deployment, the 9PX2000RTN can support a rack containing multiple access switches, a firewall appliance, and a virtualization host. During a utility failure, the UPS maintains output power while enabling controlled shutdown via network-based management tools, preventing service disruption and data loss.

This UPS is not suitable for high-density racks exceeding 1800W load requirements or for three-phase power environments. It is also not intended for deployments requiring 208V output, as it is designed specifically for 120V ecosystems.
