Eaton SU3000RTXLCD2U – 3 kVA 120V Online UPS

Overview

The Eaton SU3000RTXLCD2U is a double‑conversion online UPS designed to provide continuous conditioned AC power and battery backup for rack‑mounted IT and network equipment. It is deployed by data center, network, and systems engineers to maintain uptime, protect against power quality issues (brownouts, blackouts, surges), and allow orderly shutdown during extended outages.

This UPS delivers 3000 VA / 2700 W output at nominal 120 V, providing true online power conditioning with zero transfer time between mains and battery. It features multiple outputs including (6) NEMA 5‑20R and (1) L5‑30R, with a 0.9 power factor to support mixed server, storage, and network loads within typical branch and enterprise rack environments.

The SU3000RTXLCD2U is designed for 2U rackmount installation in 19‑inch bays and can also be deployed in tower orientation with included hardware. Its LCD interface reports real‑time status and alarms on input, output, battery state, and load levels.

It integrates with structured power infrastructures via USB and RS‑232 communications and includes an expansion slot for an optional network management card (WEBCARDLXE), enabling remote monitoring and control. It also supports additional external battery modules (EBMs) to extend runtime beyond internal battery capacity.

In practical deployment, this UPS is used downstream of facility or PDU power feeds to support servers, SAN storage, switches, and security appliances in IDF and small data center racks, ensuring clean power and sufficient runtime to complete workload checkpoints or safely shut down systems.

This unit is not designed for direct use with 230 V/400 V ecosystems without transformer infrastructure, nor is it optimized for extremely high‑density 3‑phase loads beyond its 3 kVA rating.
