The StarTech I13-SERIAL-ETHERNET is an industrial-grade serial device server designed to provide remote access and control of RS232 serial hardware over a standard IP-based network. The I13-SERIAL-ETHERNET supports multiple operating modes including TCP Server, TCP Client, and UDP, as well as Telnet (RFC2217) for specialized serial tunneling. For security and reliability, it features Level 4 ESD protection (15kV Air and 8kV Contact) to protect connected equipment from electrical surges. It can also supply 5V DC power over pin 9 of the DB9 connector, simplifying the setup for serial devices that support power-over-serial.
