The Lenovo 81MC005AUS is a MIL-spec ruggedized convertible Chromebook engineered for high-impact educational and field-service environments. This 2-in-1 device utilizes a 360-degree sync-hinge, enabling transitions between laptop, tablet, tent, and stand modes. It is designed to withstand a 29.5-inch drop onto concrete and features a spill-resistant keyboard with anti-pry keys, specifically addressing hardware longevity in multi-user or student-led deployments.

The hardware is powered by an Intel Celeron N4120 quad-core processor, providing the necessary compute overhead for G Suite, cloud-based applications, and moderate multitasking. Unlike standard consumer tablets, the 500e includes a world-facing 5MP camera in addition to the standard 720p front-facing webcam, facilitating documentation and digital capture in tablet mode.
