The INTELLINET 351898 Multifunction Cable Tester is a compact, portable diagnostic tool engineered for verifying network and telecommunications cable integrity. Designed for network installers, field technicians, and IT support personnel, it rapidly identifies continuity faults, miswires, open circuits, short circuits, and crossover pinouts prior to hardware deployment or during troubleshooting.

Featuring modular RJ45 and RJ11 port interfaces, the unit tests unshielded (UTP) and shielded (STP/FTP) patch cables and installed cable runs. Bright LED status indicators systematically scan individual pair configurations×including Power, Ground, and Pairs 1 through 8×to give clear visual feedback on wire mapping and line status. Power is supplied by a single 9V DC battery, enabling field operation without external power feeds.

Constructed with a lightweight, handheld form factor, the device is built for deployment in server rooms, wiring closets, office drop locations, and residential installations. It checks standard Ethernet (Cat3/Cat5e/Cat6) and telephone lines. Do not connect this device to live PoE-powered circuits or active telecom lines, as voltage may damage the internal diagnostic circuitry.
