Overview

The APC AR7714 is a horizontal rack-mounted cable management panel designed to organize and route structured cabling in 19-inch network and server racks. It is deployed by data center engineers, network administrators, and IT infrastructure teams to maintain orderly cabling between patch panels, switches, and other rack-mounted devices. The panel reduces cable congestion, prevents excessive bending, and simplifies maintenance in high-density networking environments.

Occupying 1U of rack space, the AR7714 features molded cable fingers that separate and guide patch cords across the rack width, maintaining proper bend radius for both copper and fiber cabling. The front-facing channel allows easy access for routing, tracing, and rearranging cables during installation or ongoing maintenance, ensuring consistent cable management practices.

This cable manager is commonly installed in server cabinets, telecommunications racks, and data center network frames. Positioned between patch panels and switches, it provides organized horizontal cable pathways, keeping cords off device ports and preserving front-to-back airflow. Proper deployment supports efficient troubleshooting and reduces the risk of accidental disconnections.

The AR7714 is not recommended for racks requiring vertical cable management or high-capacity rear cabling, as the 1U horizontal design cannot accommodate large backbone or multi-rack cable runs. Vertical cable channels or deeper horizontal managers are better suited for those scenarios.
