Overview

The APC BN1500M2 is a line‑interactive uninterruptible power supply (UPS) engineered to provide backup power continuity and surge protection for critical electronics, workstations, networking devices, and small servers during utility outages and voltage disturbances. It’s typically deployed by IT support professionals, facilities teams, and small business administrators where managed shutdown and power stabilization are required.

This UPS has a 1500 VA / 900 W capacity with automatic voltage regulation (AVR) that conditions incoming voltage between approximately 88 V and 139 V AC, reducing battery reliance during minor brownouts and overvoltages. When mains power falls outside acceptable limits, the unit switches to on‑battery operation with a simulated sine wave output.

The chassis is a compact tower form factor with an integrated multi‑function LCD providing real‑time status information such as load level, battery charge, and active power events. Communications via USB and RJ‑45 support basic UPS monitoring and orderly system shutdown during extended power loss.

Physical interfaces include ten NEMA 5‑15R outlets — six providing battery‑backup and surge protection, and four providing surge‑only protection — enabling separation of critical and non‑critical loads. Two USB ports offer auxiliary 5 V charging for mobile devices.

Internal maintenance‑free sealed lead‑acid battery technology allows runtime sufficient for orderly shutdowns or short runtime support; at half load, typical runtime is around 11.4 minutes and at full load around 3.1 minutes.
