Overview

The APC BX1000M is a line-interactive uninterruptible power supply (UPS) designed to protect electronics, servers, and networking equipment against power disturbances and outages while providing temporary battery support for orderly shutdowns or short-term runtime. It's typically deployed by IT technicians, facilities teams, and small office administrators where clean AC power continuity and surge protection are required.

Rated for 1000 VA / 600 W output, this UPS manages incoming utility irregularities using automatic voltage regulation (AVR) and switches to battery support with minimal transfer delay under abnormal mains conditions.

The chassis is a compact tower form factor that can be placed adjacent to network closets, desks, or within low-density rack spaces with appropriate shelving. An integrated LCD provides real-time indications of utility status, load level, battery level, and event conditions to assist operations teams.

Physical interfaces include eight NEMA 5-15R outlets × four providing both battery backup and surge protection, and four providing surge protection only × enabling segmentation of loads by criticality to preserve runtime for essential systems.

Internal maintenance-free sealed lead-acid battery technology delivers DC energy during outages and supports features such as cold-start capability and hot-swappable service, reducing mean time to repair during battery replacement. Typical recharge time is on the order of 12 hours.
