The APC Back‑UPS ES BE550G is a 550 VA / 330 W uninterruptible power supply (UPS) designed for basic battery backup and surge protection in home office or small business environments. It maintains continuity for connected electronics during brief power outages and mitigates spikes and sags that can disrupt or damage equipment.

This UPS uses standby (offline) topology with a stepped approximation to sine wave output and a typical transfer time of ~8 ms, switching to battery power when utility voltage falls outside acceptable ranges.

Physical outlets include a mix of battery‑backup plus surge‑protected receptacles and surge‑only outlets, allowing critical devices to remain operational while non‑critical loads are protected against transient events.
