Overview

The APC AP4452A is a 1U rack automatic transfer switch (ATS) for single-phase 120 V environments, designed to provide uninterrupted power by switching between two input sources within ~10 ms when one fails. It’s intended for racks housing single-corded devices like servers, network switches, or appliances that must stay powered without manual intervention.It accepts dual NEMA L5-20P inputs (separate A/B sources) and outputs power to 10 NEMA 5-20R outlets, distributing load across its outputs while preserving continuity. The ATS includes a field-replaceable Network Management Card (NMC) for remote monitoring, control, logging, environmental sensors, and integration into DCIM or centralized management systems.Deploy it ahead of critical rack loads so one feed can fail (UPS, utility, generator) yet the ATS switches automatically to the other feed, avoiding downtime or manual switching.
