Overview

The 01‑SSC‑9787 is a passive copper direct‑attach twinax cable with SFP+ connectors on both ends, designed for 10 Gb/s links in short‑reach environments (up to approximately 1 metre). It’s commonly used to link two SFP+ ports directly without transceivers — for example between a firewall appliance’s 10 Gb uplink and a switch’s 10 Gb SFP+ port in the same rack or adjacent racks. Because it uses copper twinax rather than active optics, it’s cost‑efficient, low‑latency, and power‑minimal. It fits neatly into setups where fiber or separate optics aren’t required and the distance is constrained. Good for connecting the SonicWall appliance’s 10‑Gig ports to a Top‑of‑Rack switch via short copper jump.
