Backed by HP's C7972A exhaustive media qualification process, the HP C7972A Ultrium 400 GB Data Cartridge supports the launch of the HP StorageWorks 460 Tape Drive. Building on the class-leadership of the Linear Tape Open standard, HP Ultrium 2 cartridges provide exceptional reliability with best-in-class high performance; the new format minimizes network interruption by being capable of protecting nearly 216 GB/hour of data and storing up to 400 GB on one piece of media (double the capacity of Ultrium 1 tapes).

HP C7972A LTO2 Ultrium II Data Tape Cartridge
HP C7972A is a LTO Ultrium 2 tape cartridge with a tape length of 609 meters and native data storage capacity of 200GB that can be expanded up to 400GB when compressed. HP C7972A features the use of a robust tape leader pin technology to ensure proper tape loading for thousands of cycles and greatly reduces the potential for any damage. The HP C7972A LTO-2 Ultrium tape cartridge is compatible with all LTO-2 and LTO-3 tape drives and auto-libraries. This tape cartridge has a rugged exterior designed for the most intensive automation environments. The HP C7972A tape cartridge incorporates an active internal head cleaner to extend tape and drive head life and also features a Cartridge Memory (CM) chip that greatly improves the performance and reliability of the tape.
